Specifications
This DIY oven comes in a crate ready to assemble in little over a couple of hours:
- pre-cut refractory base bricks;
- a one-piece internal refractory dome, covered with a heat blanket and ready for rendering;
- stainless steel facia, blackened to prevent discolouration (from heat);
- rated to 1,200 degrees, the oven operates at 800 degrees;
- full temperature within about 50 minutes;
- includes door, stainless steel cowl and flue;
- includes stainless steel facia
Logistics
Prior to assembly, you will need to construct a suitable base. You have a good deal of flexibility in so far as materials are concerned, but be aware of the minimum footprint and allow for the considerable weight of the oven.
The base will need to be approximately 800mm high and 1200mm square. The top will typically be a concrete or hebel (www.hebel.co.nz) slab, with or without tiles.
Installation is well within the capability of most amateurs, but if you are uncertain, you may wish to call in the professionals (we can assist).
